We should do this, but I don't think we can just yet, because CSI is not yet part of the CNCF (or the Linux Foundation). INAL but AFAIK, we'll have to go through the official CNCF induction process before we can proceed with this wording. |
@saad-ali CSI is a GA feature of Kubernetes, which is hosted by CNCF, which is part of the Linux Foundation. So, the license text applies to the use of the CSI logo. https://kubernetes.io/blog/2018/12/03/kubernetes-1-13-release-announcement/ |
You're welcome to approve this pull request but I would actually prefer if you deleted the images from this repo and instead externally referenced the ones from https://github.com/cncf/artwork#other-cncf-logos Removing duplicates would ensure that we properly maintain the canonical source. |

Can we instead say this: All artwork in this repo that is provided by the Linux Foundation is made available under the Linux Foundation trademark
IIUC, the logo in the repo has been donated to CSI community per this email

That seems reasonable until CSI is officially inducted in to CNCF.
@dankohn That refers to the implementation of CSI in Kubernetes (hosted in https://github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes and https://github.com/kubernetes-csi/), not the interface it self (i.e. the content hosted in https://github.com/container-storage-interface). The latter is currently independent of CNCF and the Linux Foundation and like @jieyu mentioned, the logo was donated to the community from the Linux Foundation. @jieyu's proposed wording seems reasonable to me until the project is officially inducted in the the CNCF. |
Ok, then please use any license you’d like.
