Cleaning your development environment

Tim Orling edited this page Nov 9, 2016 · 2 revisions

Eclipse does many things for you. Sometimes they are not what you want.

If you REALLY want a clean development environment, delete ~/.m2 to remove any Maven downloads/state, ~/.p2 to remove any Eclipse "Install New Software..." downloads/state and ~/.eclipse to remove any Eclipse preferences, properties, installed plugins, etc. Deleting your workspace and projects are NOT enough to be clean.

NOTE: this will wipe out your ~/.m2/settings.xml file which has your proxy settings in it. Make a back-up copy somewhere or use a system wide settings.xml.
