I've figured out the underlying problem for #318 Unable to create a core. The problem is requests does not pass the header
Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
whendata
is a string. Since this header is missing, Solr (v8.6) is ignoring the request parameters submitted in the HTTP request body. This effectively causes all request parameters to be ignored from theSolrCoreAdmin
class.I ran
run-tests.py
and saw a bunch of warnings but didn't notice any errors. Output:
