Charta is an overlay to RGeo. Basically, it was developped to permit to manipulate more easily spatial data without using factory system. It's always the case. The code was extracted from Ekylibre.
Add this line to your application's Gemfile:
gem 'charta'
And then execute:
$ bundle
Or install it yourself as:
$ gem install charta
geom = Charta.new_geometry(<WKT, WKB, GeoJSON...>) #=> <#Charta::Geometry>
geom.point_on_surface #=> <#Charta::Point>
geom.transform(2154) # => <#Charta::Geometry>
After checking out the repo, run bundle
to install dependencies. Then, run rake test
to run the tests.
To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install
. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb
, and then run bundle exec rake release
, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem
file to rubygems.org.
