Installing Mods

Introduction

Sometimes, you may want to run a modded server rather than use plugins from Spigot/Paper. Most mods can be found on either Modrinth or CurseForge. It is not recommended to download any files from sites other than these!

Setup

Make sure you are downloading the correct version of your mods. Forge and Fabric mods are most likely not cross compatible with each other unless stated otherwise, and often don't work across Minecraft versions. In your server's main directory, locate the mods folder before uploading your files there! Additionally, many Fabric mods require the Fabric-API. Download the relevant Fabric API for you server version, and upload this file into the same directory.

Please note that certain mods need players to install them locally as well. Check the documentation of your mod to see if this is required; mods may provide a separate file for clients and servers.
