Installing

This is a Chrome Browser Extension. To install this extension, please follow the instructions in the README.

Regular Usage

The only user interface for this extension is via the context menu (i.e., right click menu) on text fields. This extension will not work on pseudo-text fields. When you want to use your default or a random disposable email address, simply right click inside of the field and there will be a context menu options titled Disposable Email Helper. All of the options are then presented in the sub-menu.

More details and features will be explained in the below sections.

Please note, there is no Browser Action or Page Action, you will not see an icon for this extension next to or inside of the address bar in your browser.

Basic Troubleshooting

If you run into any issues, please first try disabling all other extensions to determine if there is a conflict with another extension. If you find there is trouble on a specific page, please make a note of it when you open an issue. Check for existing issues to avoid duplicates before posting your problem or question.

If the extension is installed properly, when you right click inside of a text field (e.g., like the search box on google.com) you should see a menu options titled Disposable Email Helper. If you do not, this likely means there was an error loading the extension. If you are experienced using your browsers' developer tools there should be an error message in the extension's background page you can provide for troubleshooting.

To check if your browser encountered a problem when installing the extension visit chrome://extensions in your address bar and look for error messages for Disposable Email Helper.

Please note, the extension is not configured to work on local pages (e.g., if the address starts with file:///). In addition, if the extension does not show up when you are InCognito or "Private" mode, then please check your settings to ensure you allow the extension to run in those modes.
