General comments

I'm new to this kind of technology so forgive me if I stumble around. I am an old, retired programmer working on a project more for fun and entertainment then for any hope of make a little profit.

I think esskar's attempt here is very impressive. The Canon SDK is rather obtuse and implementing something with it in C# has been extremely challenging. C# is the only language my old brain can deal with these days (well maybe java is a close second). So I'm not about to become a c++ expert. I did C programming pretty well back in the early 90's and then quite a bit of Visual Basic.

So let me express my deep appreciation for esskar's obvious hard work and masterful handling of this otherwise awkward and poorly documented SDK. I think there is enormous value in moving it forward so that people who need to use Canon DSLR's for important stuff, have a base to start from that has been simplified and tested.

I am no where near the skill level of esskar. But, I will contribute what I can, when I can, and hope others will join in.

This seems to be the only serious attempt at a reasonable and simplified C# interface to the Canon SDK.
