Contains sample code and presentation for Solr demo used at a lightning talk at Java User Group Karlsruhe

The demo consists of two parts: A preconfigured solr with an index configuration 

Install solr and configure:
1. Download solr 1.4.1 from http://lucene.apache.org/solr/ and unpack it
2. cp solr-config/schema.xml and solr-config/solrconfig.xml to apache-solr-1.4.1/example/solr/conf/

Run the demo:
1. Start solr: 

cd apache-solr-1.4.1/example
java -jar start.jar

This will start the internal jetty on port 8983. Admin interface can accessed at http://localhost:8983/solr/admin/

2. Start the dempo application

cd solr-demo
mvn jetty:run

The application will be available at http://localhost:8080/solr-demo/app/search

3. Index data

Run index.sh to index the presentation file and play with other different formats. Run clear-index.sh to remove everything from the index.
