Everything you need to build a Svelte project, powered by create-svelte
.
If you're seeing this, you've probably already done this step. Congrats!
# create a new project in the current directory
npm create svelte@latest
# create a new project in my-app
npm create svelte@latest my-app
Once you've created a project and installed dependencies with npm install
(or pnpm install
or yarn
), start a development server:
npm run dev
# or start the server and open the app in a new browser tab
npm run dev -- --open
To create a production version of your app:
npm run build
You can preview the production build with npm run preview
.
To deploy your app, you may need to install an adapter for your target environment.
- Define components in
src/lib/components
folder, that's the preferred comunity project folder layout. - Export folder files in barrel files, so accessing them is easier (note: this doesn't affect performance, remember Svelte cuts everything that is not needed when bundling the app).
- Define alias for main folders in
svelte.config.js
and then access them via @ annotation (e.g., '@components': path.resolve('./src/lib/components/index.ts'))
Requires following tools:
- Node.js
v18.12.1
- NPM
8.19.2
