Features of the Very Model of a Modern Skyblock Mod

First of all, some things this mod is not intended to be:

  • A complete sky block modpack -- If I do that it will be as a modpack so I can stand on the shoulders of giants.
  • Just a rehash of the various Forge sky block mods -- I have not played them and therefore I do not know what they do. =)
  • Closed source -- If you want the things above, just fork my mod and have at it; I'm looking forward to playing your mod.

Now for the fun stuff; what does this mod do?

  • Skylark suppresses all Overworld generation except biome selection. At this time it does not suppress Nether or End generation.

  • This is not Minecraft's Void generation; biomes are still placed throughout the Overworld. This means f.e. you might find a flower forest biome and get lots of dyes using your bonemeal farm. If you make land in a frozen biome you can probably find strays. Etc.

  • If you can get into the Nether it makes finding biomes easier, because each new Nether portal in the Overworld is also a beach-head where you can place blocks...

  • Skylark is designed to be a multiplayer mod. It has features to improve multiplayer sky block play, and it will get more over time.

  • You can spawn all the players on a single tree and work together. You can spawn them in a ring 1000 blocks from the origin and maybe not work together so much...

  • A feature is placed at each spawn point and when users are spawned in different locations, Skylark tracks their individual spawn points so they will respawn at their spawn point instead of at the origin.

  • Skylark has configurable spawn features. At this time, it can place any single block or any (non-structure) feature.

  • Give a list of features and Skylark will select a random one. By default a random tree type is selected for each spawn point.

  • Placement height is also adjustable (default is 120).

  • I have not looked into it yet but I hope to be able to place structures as spawn features in 1.19.
