This script list the next events in my Outlook calendar of today. I use it as "quick and dirty" widget on my side screen, because Microsoft is not having widgets at the moment.
Working.
Now also including recurring events like weeklys and the timespans to start and end in minutes.
Due to the fact that its a console application on every refresh the whole list gets rewritten.
But having this running on a side display (whats i do) means, that the refreh can be catched by the eye and this can be distracting.
Without the EndIn and StartIn columns the refreh can be every 10+ minutes what helps with this, but with these calculated values it must be refreshed every minute.
Would be cool to update the script, that its only the backend updating a database like SQLite and then have a frontend showing the data with refreshs only on component level.
if you see something like this, just wait it happens when Outlook is not ready yet. Just keep the script running and the error will be solved automatically after 1-2min.
I decided to keep the "list_my_calendar_events.ps1" file as standalone CLI solution and added a new file "SQLite_list_my_calendar_events_backend.ps1".
This script is build on top of the CLI, but stores and updates the next events of the day into an SQLite database. So my intention is to run this script as backend in the background on my PC and then display the events stored in the database with a small svelte frontend (will build this next in a separate repo)
Information about the SQLite setup and other settings to consider when running this backend script on your side, see the commebts inside the file.
