Design Goals

1. Re-position value Make it easy for human rights defenders to know how Orbot benefits them & offer a one-click setup.

• Much of this is about aligning with the mental model people have with using VPNs to connect to the internet.
• While also overcoming misconceptions about Tor or confusion about Orbot
• And optimizing the experience people have of the functional performance of Tor (ie. Tor and streaming don't get along; Bank apps and Tor don't typically get along)

2. Boost snowflake volunteers Make it easier than ever to become a snowflake proxy for communal use.

The audiences for these 2 sides of Orbot may differ. One sector will use Orbot for the VPN; Another will use it to help others; and yet another sector will use it for both.

There are additional features offered by Orbot that must weave into the overall experience. Some include:

• Onion services
• Using Orbot for Tor services (Supports other apps that have Tor built in but rely on Orbot to make the connection)

The iOS feature set varies from that available on Android.
