Slow to see new messages, or requires restarting app to see new messages

Installed release 0.7.4 on aarch64 and x86_64 macs on a local LAN
Messages sent only appear on the other after restarting Volla Messages (or after a very long time; some just showed up after a 50m delay...)

I believe this will be partially addressed by #422 and partially addressed by the upgrade to holochain 0.4

Hi @pjkundert thanks for the offer! You're certainly welcome to pick up some issues if you'd like, though I don't have any at the top of mind that are ideal for first contributions. Maybe just comment on the issue you want to take on and tag me so I can make sure its something we want to implement.
