I'm a applied data science consultant who's focused on showing people that analytics is a skill, not a role!
I spent 20 years in Oil and Gas engineering consulting. My background is Instrumentaiton, Automation, and Control Systems but in my career I've had opportunities in Bussiness Development, Project Engineering, and Multi-Discipline Project Management. I've managed engineering portfolios worth up to $150 Million in total installed cost!

⚡ Fun fact Analytics is simply finding a pattern in data
In 2020 I chose to make a pivot into applied data science. I started teaching myself because I wanted to learn Computer Vision and embedded systems. During this time I got my first certifications in AI from . The links below take you to the online certificates:
Getting Started with DeepStream for Video Analytics on Jetson Nano
In April 2021 I completed the applied machine learning bootcamp from . Since then I've completed certifications from the following organizations:
Python data science certifications from
Machine learning certification from
Computer vision certificaiton from
Along with these certifications, I've gained proficiency in using the following platforms, packages, libraries:
In Q3 2022 I registered the trade name "True North Analytics" (website coming soon). The company is a social enterprise focused on teaching people that analytics is a skill, not a role. I want to show people how to apply data analytics and machine learning in order to improve productivity, save money; and make evidence-based, data-driven decisions. I believe that helping people learn analytical skills will promote a more inclusive and diverse world; one where decisions are made using data, not feelings, emotions or biases.
To promote my company, I've started a github repository to showcase some analytics of news topics of the day: Data Analytics Notebooks. I've also started writting on to help promote myself, my work, and my ability to teach analytics.
My plan is to reach out to small to medium sized companies, and get them excited about what data analytics and machine learning can do for them by teaching them analytical skills. I believe that by creating a relationship of trust with business owners, through training and education, I can be the main point of contact in consultation work related to data analytics, machine learning, and engineering.
The goal is to eventually pivot "True North Analytics" into an engineering consulting company, with a proven and established relationship with small and medium sized business owners who want to engage in data analytics or engineering projects. I believe that data analytics, and machine learning are required skills of anyone in an engineering or technical role. These skills will help make evidence based, data-driven decisions that improve project forecasting, project expectations, and project outcomes while significantly reducing project risks.
I have another github that has a number of colab notebooks on different topics. I'm also working on completing an analysis of the SpaceX dataset. For this analysis, I web scraped data from Wikipedia, Reddit, and downloaded data from the SpaceX API. Once complete, I'm going to post the entire series of notebooks I used to put together this dataset.
