Outbound Calling: Invite previous participants to conference using web push notification
Herewith you may establish a spontaneous meeting with your buddies without the need to arrange it beforehand by a schedule.
Like with a phone, you may initiate an outbounding call to one ore more persons to invite them to join to an opened meeting room. To be reachable, the called person just need to have the browser (used before for meeting) running -- on any page or event idle. On an incoming call one will receive a browser (or system) message popup and on confirm the browser will attach to the room with the originating caller.
This feature uses web push notification to send a meeting URL notification directly to any user who has taken part in a previous meeting and had given permissions to receive web browser push notifications. Web push notifications allows the user to receive the notification pop-up anytime from their web browser. This is managed by a tiny background task called web push worker. On your agree, it will be automatically installed on first visit of the appropriate website. You may withdraw to this using the management tools of your browser.
If this option is enabled, then each user has a new icon on their toolbar named "Contact Manager". This dictionary will be filled automatically with an entry for each "new" participant you'll visit at your meetings. Sorry, but at the moment, there are no managing functions to delete, add or arrange entries.
Use this to invite contacts to join to an active current meeting. First, click the icon to open a dialog box. The dialog box displays all participants to previous meetings who have given permissions to receive web push notifications as contacts. Click on a contact to toggle between being selected (green tick) and un-selected (face icon).
After selecting all invited contacts, click on the invite button to send out the web push notifications. If the web push fails, then the contact icon changes to a red cross otherwise it will remain a green tick. Click on Reset to de-select all contacts and click on close to close the dialog window.
