This could be just a placeholder and replaced with something custom.
I woud do it myself if I were allowed to upload files, so using the link was my only choice.

You can upload files using git. You may want to get accustomed to using this tool. Don't hesitate to email me if you have questions.

No problem.
But I meant like putting the actual png file in there and setting the href source to "/favicon/favicon.png" ("favicon" being a folder in the root). So the favicon also appears when your browser cannot connect to any internet to get the png via the link.
The problem with uploading files, I cannot upload files to the project due to security reasons on their side. I would set up everything for the favicon by myself, but I just cannot add folders and files. That's what I meant.

If you want to add files and folders you can use git on your own computer (not by using GitHub in the browser). Some IDEs have git integrated into them so that may be an easier approach, depending on your setup.
