Does anyone have the same problem?

I have the same problem on Windows 10. A few times 1.9.22 has worked but then constantly not any longer. I have tried several settings, different output devices with no success. Analyzing verbose messages did not provide any results.
Using Jack version jack2-win64-v1.9.21 - does not crash. I have to stay on 1.9.21. The Windows 10 is 19044.2604 .

Please find attached in the zip file the message comparison of

  • Jack_1_9_22_verbose_crash.txt
  • Jack_1_9_21_verbose_OK.txt

May be this is helpful.

On Windows there is a very confusing difference between 1.9.22 and 1.9.21.

When Jack crashes or hangs (e.g. of #889) in 1.9.21 jackd.exe showed up in the Windows Task Manager under Processes / Background processes. Killing jackd.exe helped.

But with 1.9.22 jackd.exe does not show up in the Task manager under Processes / Background processes at all. However, it shows up in the Task Manager under the Users tab.

Why has this change being made?
Where is this change documented? I have not found anything.

I can imagine that this change may be a reason of the reported Windows problems of 1.9.22 vs. 1.9.21.

The current version 1.9.22 renders this beautiful piece of software unusable. :-(
