switchmate

A python-based command line utility for controlling Switchmate switches.

Usage

./switchmate.py scan
./switchmate.py status [<mac_address>]
./switchmate.py <mac_address> debug
./switchmate.py <mac_address> auth
./switchmate.py <mac_address> (<auth_key> | none) switch [on | off]

$ sudo ./switchmate.py scan

--- for newer switchmate devices/firmwares, an auth key is not necessary ---

$ sudo ./switchmate.py ee:0d:eb:e4:3f:0d none switch on

--- for older switchmate devices/firmwares, an auth key is necessary ---

$ sudo ./switchmate.py ee:0d:eb:e4:3f:0d auth
Press button on Switchmate to get auth key

$ sudo ./switchmate.py ee:0d:eb:e4:3f:0d 4723210F switch on
Waiting for response
Switched!

Note: Newer Switchmate devices/firmwares do not require authentication. Use "none" instead of an auth key to switch your device on and off.

Note: If your device requires an auth key, you cannot use this script and the Switchmate app simultaneously.
