Identical to pre-release!
This release has no changes regarding any changes in Firefox after v56.0 and v58.0a (2017-10-04). However it has a significant change: The set of icons for the toolbar (and menu) is completely replaced. The new icons are in .svg
format, so they look fine even at very high resolution. The shapes are essentially identical those in the previous release, so the difference will be minimal for users without very high resolution screens. I also fixed one problem I found in some previous releases: the downloads button icon may be hidden while customizing if it is located in the tabs bar. That problem would happen after download activity. Also the new tab icon will have its normal semblance when place in the tabs bar (except when it is placed immediate after the tabs). Finally, this release changes the warning and check-mark icons used by the Add-Ons manager (about:addons
).
Additional notes:
- The release going to A.M.O. differs only for being restricted to work with versions of Firefox below v57.0.
- As this theme is in the legacy category (mozilla had given no path for migrating complete themes), you must set
extensions.legacy.enable: true
for it to be usable in Firefox Nightly v58.0a. This setting does work in Firefox 57.0b (but it works in v57.0a). - To use the Photon structure in Firefox *v55.0 and v56.0 set
browser.photon.structure.enabled: true
. - I believe I may have neglected to leave space between the icon and the label of items in the labels of photon menus when using the OS-X platform. If this problem is found please post the issue immediately with images of where it occurs so I can fix it.
- Customizing the overflow panel of the Photon structure is not WYSIWYG. This is because I prefer the buttons in this section keep the style they had in the past, but that does not match the changes by Mozilla. I have not figured out how to restore the regions that detect the hovering items from vertical to horizontal (if at all possible in
css
!). - Sorry I took so long on releasing these icons, I hope you enjoy them!
