getBlackboardDirectory

A command line tool for downloading Blackboard course directories.

How to find your session ID:

1. Open Google Chrome and log into Blackboard with your credentials.

Login

2. Go to blackboard.SCHOOL-NAME.edu/learn/api/public/v1/courses

Replace SCHOOL-NAME with your college or university's domain name. The link will take you to a page that looks like this: enter image description here

3. Click Ctrl + Shift + I on your keyboard or left click and select Inspect

4. Select Network from the Chrome DevTools menu.

5. Hit Ctrl + R on your keyboard.

6. Select the Courses item and copy s_session_id from Request Headers

Copy the string of letters/numbers highlighted in light blue down below, but from your own page. enter image description here

7. Save s_session_id to a secure location. You will need it to run the program.

How to find your course ID and content ID:

1. Navigate to your course's Assignments folder, or wherever you want to download content from.

2. Look at the URL. For example, mine is:

https://blackboard.cpcc.edu/webapps/blackboard/content/listContent.jsp?course_id=_946598_1&content_id=_11250540_1&mode=reset

3. Copy course_id and content_id:

course_id=_946598_1&content_id=_11250540_1 _946598_1 _11250540_1

4. Save these numbers to a secure location. You will need them to run the program.
