How they work

Layers are applied one on top of another in the order you apply them.

For example, if you were typing normally on the main layer, and you hit Lock 1 to lock the layer to layer number 1, it would apply any keys in layer 1 on top of the main layer. So hitting a key left clear in layer 1 would output the character assigned to that key on the main layer, but if you had say 'h' assigned to that key on layer 1, it would output 'h'. If you then latched layer 2 that layer would be applied on top of the current assignments replacing only the keys it has set and leaving all the rest alone.

LOCK acts like caps lock. If you assign this function to a key, that key will permanently lock that specific layer until you press the key again to unlock it.

Example:

I want to lock to layer 3, I assign a key to LOCK3

Lock 1-7

LOCK1, 2, 3, etc. indicate which layer you want to lock on to.

Example:

I create an arrow cluster on layer 5. I would use the LOCK5 function key.

Layer latching works similar to the lock. The key difference being that as soon as you press any key (assigned or not) ALL latched function layers are removed.

Latch 1-7

LATCH1, 2, 3, etc. indicate which layer you want to latch to.

Example: I have created an arrow cluster on layer 3. I want to create a latch key so that I can latch to that layer. I would use LATCH3.

F1 is Function 1 or F1 on your keyboard. f1 is function layer number 1. Holding f1 will apply layer number 1 on top of the previous layers until you release f1
