I need a systematic way to benchmark the simulation results.

To consider:

empirical formulas,
open source experimental data,
implementations in other software, e.g. Wayverb
evaluation of other software, e.g. https://reuk.github.io/wayverb/evaluation.html
compare impulse responses and frequency responses (magnitude and later phase).
