jekyll-theme-strata is a Jekyll theme based on the Strata HTML5 UP.
See example site.
Add this line to your Jekyll site's Gemfile
:
gem "jekyll-theme-strata"
And add this line to your Jekyll site's _config.yml
:
theme: jekyll-theme-strata
And then execute:
$ bundle
Strata comes with the jekyll-seo-tag
plugin preinstalled. It uses the logo
attribute as the site's avatar. Otherwise
see usage
for more details on the SEO plugin.
Changing the background can be done by adding the image you would like at the
assets/images/bg.jpg
path. This image should be 1274px x 1274px.
You can add links to your social accounts by adding one or more of the following options to your config.

If you use Disqus for comments on your Jekyll blog, you can enable this with the following configuration:

Comments are only enabled in production builds (JEKYLL_ENV=production
).
You can disable comments on a specific post by adding comments: false
to the
post's front matter.
To enable Google Analytics, add this configuration:
google_analytics: UA-NNNNNNNN-N

To display post excerpts on the home page, add the following configration:
show_excerpts: true
You can specify the date format of posts with the following configuration:
date_format: "%b %-d, %Y"

To set up your environment to develop this theme, run bundle install
.
This theme is setup just like a normal Jekyll site! To test this theme, run
bundle exec jekyll serve
and open your browser at http://localhost:4000
.
This starts a Jekyll server using this theme and contents. As you make
modifications, your site will regenerate and you should see the changes in the
browser after a refresh.
The theme is available as open source under the terms of the MIT License.
This Jekyll theme is taken from Strata by HTML5 UP. Additionally, a lot inspiration was taken from Minima.
