Optional dependencies

On-Screen Display (OSD)
Different OSD can be used with acpi-eeepc-generic:

• KDE’s knotify (provided by ‘kdebase’)
• GTK’s libnotify (provided by ‘notification-daemon’)
• dzen2
• awesome
• none

Make sure you have installed the one you want, and set the “NOTIFY” option in /etc/conf.d/acpi-eeepc-generic.conf

Lightweight tools
Some suggestions for lightweights tools:

• lxtask: Task manager from LXDE
• lxrandr: GUI for controlling screen output from LXDE
• pcmanfm: File browser from LXDE
• lxterminal: Terminal from LXDE
• wicd: Network connection GUI
