The growing problem of homelessness in the greater Seattle area has long been an ongoing discussion among residents. We'd like to do something actionable towards addressing the problem. The purpose of this mobile website (thus, this repo will eventually be in JavaScript, once our student developers learn it!) is to provide a centralized source for the homeless of King County to find shelter, food, and other necessities. Resources from prior incomplete partial attempts and awesome work done for other cities (such as https://github.com/zendesk/linksf) will happily be scavenged or borrowed.
We welcome anyone who would like to contribute. Currently, our core team is comprised of:
- @NoahGreer - Developer
- @geferay - Evangelist
- @quantumAnn - Project Manager

Data scraping websites for shelter data: City of Seattle, Catholic Community Services, ARISE Program, HOME Program, Compass Housing Alliance (Note: this shelter link is currently empty so a manual search within the site is required.), and many, many, many more.
