voicemeeter configuration
In my example, I will be using:
- HARDWARE INPUT 1: Radio Output (what the radio is receiving from the antenna)
- HARDWARE INPUT 2: Microphone (what I talk and want to transmit to the radio)
- HARDWARE INPUT 3: Built-in Laptop Microphone (fallback)
- VIRTUAL INPUT Voicemeeter VAIO: General audio from apps
- VIRTUAL INPUT Voicemeeter AUX: Audio that comes from radio programs, to be transmitted by the transceiver.
- Click on
HARDWARE INPUT 1
and selectWDM: FT-991A RX Audio
(you have defined that name in the previous step) adapter - Repeat the same procedure for
HARDWARE INPUT 2
and select your Microphone device, always choosing the WDM one - Rinse and repeat for
HARDWARE INPUT 3
, if desired, for some other input that you want control.
Configuring Input Devices
Now, move to the HARDWARE OUT
side, next to A1
, A2
, and A3
selectors.
In my example, the A1
bus goes to my headset; the A2 is responsible for sending the audio to the radio for transmission, and the
A3` is the built-in laptop speaker.
- Click on
A1
. Select your preferred audio output device. In my case, it is my headphone. WDM option. - Click on
A2
. SelectFT-991A TX Audio
. The WDM, as usual. - Click on
A3
. Select your secondary audio output, preferring the WDM one.
Configuring Output Devices
This is also very important - And also useful. Give name to each of those inputs, outputs and sliders.
In order to be able to easily identify what's each bus/slider for, you can just right-click over the hot area and give it some meaningful to me. I have identified the hot areas with a red star. Remember, it's right-click and not the standard left-click. Give some good name to each of them.
