Most design in handsets like smartphones has stagnated to become slightly tweaked variants of the latest iDevice; A design with a storefront in mind. We aim to build something with actual people in mind. People who drop things and don't want to rub their thumbs over glass shards to make a call.
Most phones are manufactured in such a way that makes them hostile to self-repair, thus undoing the revolutionary part of the industrial revolution while increasing its wastefulness. We aim to build a device that wants to be hacked.
What we aim to do is not mainstream. It is defiant. It is cypherpunk as fuck and we must build an aesthetic to match that essence in a way that would make the iPhone 4S Gold faint.
