Cheat-Sheets

Make quick cheat-sheets on the go from your shell.

Installation

For now, the script will use your Documents folder to store the sheets. All sheets will be stored in ~/Documents/chc_sheets/ Make sure to add the chc file to a folder that is in PATH

You can also try to run the install.sh script. This script will add the correct folders and copy over the sheets that are default. It will also try to add a folder ~/bin to $PATH

Usage

Append a command to a cheat-sheet. Will create a new sheet if it does not already exist.

chc -a [name of sheet] 'command to be added'

List all commands in a specific sheet

chc -l [name of sheet]

List all sheets

chc -c

Show help

chc -h

Open sheet in vim so you can edit/add commands easily

chc -e [file]

Search for commands in your sheets

chc -s [file] [search term]

Search/find commands in all sheets at once

chc -f [search term]

Examples

Append a command to file sheet vim

chc -a vim 'u - undo last operation'

Display all commands in the sheet vim

chc -l vim

Search for occurances of the word insert in the sheet vim

chc -s vim insert

Search for occurances of the term insert under in the sheet vim

chc -s vim "insert under"

Search for occurances of the term insert under in all sheets

chc -f "insert under"
