Born and raised in Virginia, Scott spent 8 years in the US Navy as a submariner. He specialized in nuclear power and later moved into information technologies and networking. After his enlistment, Scott contracted for the Navy for more than 17 years working as a system administrator, network engineer, lead NOC engineer and red team security analyst. Providing Internet services and protecting the fleet from cyberattacks was a major part of Scott’s early career. More recently, Scott oversaw the design and implementation of a Zero Trust based multi-tenant international network to support the US Army Europe’s coalition operations as the Cybersecurity Architect. Today, Scott leverages his breadth of experience and knowledge gained in his professional experiences to ensure medium-small businesses and websites across the Internet stay secure from cyber threats. Scott is also the President of vCISO Catalyst, an organization dedicated to supporting virtual CISOs globally and President of his local ISC2 Chapter.
