Talos 1.7-> 1.8 -> 1.9 upgrade note.

Talos v1.8

support Kubernetes 1.26-1.31

  • For kube-proxy >= v1.31, change default backend from iptable to nftables.
  • Talos Linux can now apply the default AppArmor profiles to all workloads started via containerd, if the machine is installed with the AppArmor LSM enabled in the kernel args (security=apparmor).

Talos v1.9

support Kubernetes 1.27-1.32

  • i915 and amdgpu DMR driver is removed from base image.
    ✏️ changes: add extension siderolabs/i915-ucode
  • Service edevd changed to system-udevd.
  • Support local image cache for air-gapped environments.
  • Support running Pod with in user namespaces.
