Quick-Search Combo Boxes

To quickly find the item in a combo box you are looking for, start to type in the name of it while the dropdown is open. (This seems to not work in Windows 10 as it only searches for the starting letter you type.)

Playing Pokémon Cries

Trigger's PC supports the playing of cries when you click on a Pokémon's cry button in the summary viewer, and when you are evolving a Pokémon. To supply cry files just search for a download from any source as they are readily available then place them in Resources/Pokemon/Cries. The cries must be named in the format ###.wav/mp3 or #.wav/mp3.

Custom Pokémon Sprites

To add custom Pokémon sprites goto Trigger's PC Directory/Resources/Pokemon and place the non shiny sprites in Front and the shiny sprites in FrontShiny. Name them with the Dex number formatted as ###.png. Pokémon sprites must be 64x64 for best results. To use a custom Pokémon sprite goto Settings > Pokémon Sprites > Use Custom or select Use Selection and manually enable each custom sprite you want to use.

Note: Spinda cannot have a custom sprite because the spot drawing code requires the original sprite.

Forms

Forms are a little trickier. These need to be store in Front/Forms and FrontShiny/Forms. The file should be named with the Dex number, a dash, and then the Form number. The naming format for forms is ###-##.png. For Unown, A-Z is 00-25, ! is 26, and ? is 27. For Deoxys, 00 is Normal, 01 is Attack, 02 is Defense, and 03 is Speed. If you want to use custom forms, you will also have to place a custom sprite in the Front and FrontShiny folder just like for any Pokémon with no forms.

Custom Wallpapers for Your PC

Your PC allows you to use as many custom wallpapers as you like. To find where to store custom wallpapers goto Trigger's PC Directory/Resources/Wallpapers. Wallpapers must be 156x141 for best results. The name of the wallpaper will be the name that shows up in Your PC. Custom wallpapers are stored after the default wallpapers in alphabetical order in the dropdown.

Obtaining Pokémon Box R&S Eggs

Pokémon stored in Pokémon Box keep track of the trainer who deposited them by storing their Trainer ID and Secret ID on the end of the Pokémon. Trigger's PC will do the exact same thing. To make sure the Pokémon stores the ID you want, first place it in the game you want the ID from then place it in Pokémon Box. Then when you start playing Pokémon Box with the game with the same ID you will get the eggs.

Notes

  • Depositing Pokémon from Your PC won't help towards the Pokémon Count as you cannot play a game that has that ID without cheating.
  • Moving a Pokémon from one Pokémon Box file to another in Trigger's PC will not change the stored ID.
  • If you would like to get each egg again without having to switch the games they were caught in, you can use a previous save before the eggs were acquired. Pokémon Box stores which eggs have been collected in the GBA save, not the Pokémon Box save.
  • I may make this easier in the future by allowing the user to set the ID that is stored whenever depositing a Pokémon in Pokémon Box.

Auto-Syncing GameCube Saves

If you happen to be using Dolphin Emulator to play Colosseum, XD, or Pokémon Box R&S then you may be aware that the memory card format is clunky and a pain to use. You may not be aware that there is a better option that allows easier syncing with a file that Trigger's PC can read without having to import or export.

  • Goto Config > GameCube > Slot A and select GCI Folder in the dropdown.
  • From here goto Documents/Dolphin Emulator/GC/"your locality" and create a folder called Card A.
  • Now any saves stored in here will be loaded from and saved over by Dolphin instead of using the raw memory card file. Example
  • Now all you need to do is add these saves to Trigger's PC and they will automatically both be up to date without any extra work.

Dropbox Syncing

If you're using a mobile emulator like GBA4iOS then you can take full advantage of the feature to sync saves to Dropbox. If you download the Dropbox application for Windows then you can add saves to Trigger's PC from the Dropbox folder on your computer. That way any changes made in-game or in-tool will automatically be synced to your emulator and computer.

Dropbox Syncing GameCube Games

For the most part this would be an easy task but the problem is that it makes it difficult if you still want to play these games while having them sync. There is a work around but it requires the creation of Symbolic Links using a special program or the Windows Command Prompt to execute. You will also need administrative privileges.

See this Guide for information on how to create Symbolic Links.

  • Put the desired GameCube save in your Dropbox folder where you want it to be stored.
  • Create a symbolic link and store it in the Card A folder referenced in the Auto-Syncing GameCube Saves section.
  • Now whenever you save the game from Dolphin it will alert Dropbox to sync the updated file.
  • In Trigger's PC add the game stored in your Dropbox folder.
  • Now if you want to have multiple GameCube games ready to play here's what you do.
  • Create symbolic links of each game that you have and store them in a folder somewhere. They can each be named whatever you want.
  • Whenever you want to play one of your games, move the game in that folder to the Card A folder and remove any other saves of the same game type from it.
  • Now because Trigger's PC is referencing the files stored in Dropbox, you can always have all of your GameCube games added without having to change anything.

Keep Missing Save Files

If you often load saves off of SD Cards that are not always connected to the computer, you can activate the Keep Missing Save Files option that will allow missing saves to stay hidden in Trigger's PC instead of removing them for not being present.
