Clear ASL Logs Script

This script will execute "rm -f /private/var/log/asl/*.asl &" on startup

Download:
The package installer is located in the Installer folder. It includes all of the needed files.

Rational:
Opening the terminal on OSX can be slow if the system ASL logs have built up. This project contains an installer for Mac OS X which installs a script to delete these files on startup. This is useful since the script can be run regularly and obtain admin privileges without user intervention.

Based on this lifehacker post: http://lifehacker.com/#!5666887/speed-up-terminal-by-clearing-asl-logs

Description of files:

- ClearASLLogs/ClearASLLogs is a bash script. It contains functions which can be called by the operating system.

- ClearASLLogs/StartupParameters.plist is an XML file required by the system for startup items.

- Installer/ClearASLLogs.pmdoc is the Package Builder file with the settings to create the installer. The script and parameters must be installed to /Library/StartupItems/ClearASLLogs. In order to run, the files must be owned by root and added to the wheel group.
