Our releases are triggered by an artifact 'arriving' in artifactory after a bamboo build. A bamboo deployment is later triggered by xl-release. When a bamboo deployment is triggered a new deployment version must be created before it can consequently trigger a deployment. That's what is added to the plugin.
The plugin also checks to see if parameterized release version already exists before creating it.
