this is a simply MongoDB & Express CRUD application, nothing fancy, you must have a MongoDB server up and runnning for this.
To get the server up and running, first navigate into the server
directory:
cd server
Install the dependencies using npm
:
npm install
The application expects several environment variables:
- PORT (optional) - to what port port should the application listen take requests on, if not provided the app will listen on port
8080
- MONGO_CONNECTION_STRING - The MongoDB connection string, the database we store notes in
therefore we will export the MONGO_CONNECTION_STRING
variable and assign it our connection string, replace it with your own credentials:
export MONGO_CONNECTION_STRING=mongodb://localhost:27017/secret
start the server
npm run start
The client was build using the Vue.js framework Nuxt, more info about SSR and static site generation can be found in official documentation.
Navigate into the client
directory:
cd client
