How to cite

Julian Held edited this page Oct 24, 2024 · 3 revisions

The software has a DOI via zenodo:

Julian Held (2024) OES-toolbox: v0.3.2 https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13986865

Please make sure to cite all appropriate sources when publishing results obtained using the software.

What source to cite depends on which functionality you are using:

Emission Line Identification

The identification tab uses owlspec to fetch the data listed by the NIST Atomic Spectra Database. These can be cited as follows:

Up to date citation information for NIST ASD is provided here: https://physics.nist.gov/PhysRefData/ASD/Html/verhist.shtml

Molecular Bands

The molecules tab uses Moose for spectra simulation, which in turn relies on database from MassiveOES. Please consider citing i) Moose, ii) MassiveOES and iii) the original source of the data when publishing simulation results. The 'identification only' section uses data from LIFBASE.

Continuum Radiation

The 'continuum' tab uses the equations from Kunze's excellent book on plasma spectroscopy:
