Supply chain analysis
OriginTrail is a unique solution allowing IT providers in supply chains to set up blockchain supported data sharing in multi-organizational environment. It helps them build transparency beyond the “one step down, one step up” traceability principle. Furthermore, it improves the integrity of product data and drives efficiencies for stakeholders. The first version of the OriginTrail solution is proven and currently deployed in the food industry. Open source version or the protocol is suitable to any product supply chain such as automotive, consumer goods, pharmaceutical etc.
Integration of OriginTrail protocol should include (but it is not mandatory) several entities in one supply chain. Each entity is viewed as separate company with it's own IT system and procedures. That is why it is essential that all parties involved in project agree on their mutual goals before going further into implementation process.
All entities should agree on some basic project management issues like due dates, available resources and budget. Also internal (within supply chain) and external (towards solution providers, developers, OriginTrail...) communication channels should be defined.
If there are several entities involved in the implementation, then probably one of them is going to be first to implement the protocol and other entities will follow. If that is the case, than all entities should agree on pioneer for the whole process. Dynamics how other entities will follow is should be established based on implementation procedure and resources available.
