Buildings in PoD represent your influence over the mortal populace of a specific county. You are playing a supernatural ruler and, as such, must take care that you can pull as much ressources from the sleeping masses as you can in order to win over your competition.

Most buildings follow this path of upgrade :

Example of levels for a Monastery :

  • Bribed Acolyte (Level 1) : Level 1 of a branch, always cost gold. You will first have to get by using cold, hard cash to get things started.
  • Influenced Brother (Level 2) : Level 2, costs prestige. Now, you are using your personal band of merry men to take the next step, hence prestige.
  • Ghouled Father Superior (Level 2.G) : A sidegrade, here for Vampires. A more hands on approach on things that requires a loyal group of followers to keep things in line. Hence cost piety (loyalty in the mod).
  • Controlled Monastery (Level 3) : Level 3, cost prestige. Pretty much the same as Level 2, but on a larger scale.
  • Conditioned Monks (Level 3.C) : Power based sidegrade, some powers give the opportunity to use your influence in unexpected ways. Dominate, for the example here, always give you the opportunity to get some cheap light infantry out of your influence network.

List of buildings chains :
