Changes
- The translation of the extension UI to German and Croatian has been completed. Again, thank you very much to all the international contributors!
- Update the list of target languages with the 24 new languages that are now supported by Google Translate.
- A lot of under the hood changes to develop the extension from the ground up using technologies like Lit, Typescript and Webpack which will make its development much easier from now on.
There have also been some minor improvements, like improving the options page design, and preventing the horizontal scrollbar from appearing in the options page in Edge.
Announcement: Canary channel (nightly builds)
From now on, you can download nightly builds of the extension by joining this Google Group and downloading the canary version here. You'll be able to text experimental features like this one and help find bugs.
Status
- Chrome: published both in the Beta and Stable channels. The rollout according to the release plan is underway.
- Edge: published.
Release plan
The extension will be slowly rolled out to the stable channel. The plan is to increment the "percentage rollout" value in the CWS settings each day unless an issue is detected during the rollout -- in this case the rollout will be stopped and the issue will be investigated.
