This is for those of you who will be using some of the global data sets during summer:

• You can access the global files in //DH1-BIOTI41/, which is the small computer under a separate table in room 6603. So, if you don’t have network access to it, you can go to the computer’s E-drive and find the same contents.
• There is a new version of the cookbook in P:/h573/bcig/Data/GlobalDataWarehouse, where you can see that as we had the create new resolution levels (see next point).
• We decided to change the file naming. Earlier, 1 km files were named XX_r5x.tif, now this is _r15x.tif, and the 1.7 km resolution is _r16x.tif, etc. All resolution levels have their different codes as described the in the cookbook.
• Due to the change, there are now files with old names and the new names. This confucion will be removed in august.
• The new 1.7 km resolution starts to be ready for species data:
• Reptiles, Mammals, Seasnakes, Mangroves, MarineFish, Birds
• But amphibians are not yet ready and it can take many days because with some 2000 species left.
• Also other resolution levels (r17-r22 / 2,5 km to 100 km) for species are mostly ready but we are still missing Amphibians and birds with 2,5 km resolution

• Species data:

  These are not ready yet, we are calculating the new resolution R16 (1,7 km)
• Habitat Quality (created from human footprint and anthropogenic biomes of the world):

• Conservation area: Needs to be updated first. New shape file can be found from here:
