Tutorial EzLang Layout Modes

You may have noted the "mode" property of the Layouts; this is one of the most important properties to learn about, because it does most of the heavy lifting in the framework. One of the advantages of EzTerm is that you don't have to hardcode your widget positions and sizes and you don't have to handle UI scaling. Instead, smart layouts do the work for you unless you specify that you want manual positions. To give you control over the way in which objects are placed on the screen, you can choose between layout modes and layout orientations. We'll look at each of the available modes and their orientations in the coming sections. Here is a short overview of what we'll look at:

• Box Mode: Place widgets from left to right (horizontal) or from top to bottom (vertical);
• Stack mode: Stack widgets inside the layout as efficiently as possible in a primary and secondary direction (e.g. left-to-right then top-to-bottom);
• Table mode: Place widgets in a table format, i.e. according to rows and columns;
• Tab mode: Display child layouts as tabs, auto-generating tab headers
• Screen mode: Create a screen from each child layout

After that, we'll look at two more important properties that are not modes, but are impactful enough to discuss in full:

• Scrolling;
• Views;
