The existing logo for OpenDb was created by myself, and its pretty crap, I would love to see a new logo created. If you contribute a logo it must be copyright compatible with OpenDb. (So a creative commons license or GPL, etc)

It would be great if a browser favourite icon can be provided that is 16x16 pixels.

Michael, I like your logo quite a bit, but I still would like to see Dave's conceptual idea, expanded upon too, any one want to have a go?

I agree: Michael, your blue CD logo looks good, but it stresses CD/DVD media only. I'd rather see a logo implemented which shows all kinds of possibilities. Dave's sketch looks promising. We just need a professionally-looking realization, from a volunteer artist probably.

Ralphb Logo

Something like this perhaps ... ?

I like the look of that one definately, although I am not sure about the i guess its a 'db' on the right, probably needs a bit more work, but I think its definately closer. Its ironic that I could have an issue with anyones logo when you consider my effort ;-)

Mista Logo

Took the design more 'general'

I am new to PHP/MySQL solutions and was browsing sourceforge when I came across this interesting project which has really nice functionality and pro looks.

Reading through the Wiki pages I say the need for a new logo and here is my contribution;

(original png is also uploaded)

The logo idea explained:

- the COG represents the high configurability of the openDB system

- the four coulered boxes contained within the cog represent 'any' collection of the same kind, whether it's CD's, DVD's, stamps or coins

Cheers and keep up the good work on this project!

I wonder if you might consider modifying your logo idea so that it works well as a browser location icon. It needs to be resized to 31x31 pixels. I tried resizing your logo but it gets too busy. --JasonPell 20:36, 5 May 2007 (CDT)

Hi, I do like your logo, my only concern is that it looks too much like the KDE one, and we do not want to be accused of copying now do we.

Mista 16:01, 19 April 2007 (CDT) I wasn't aware of that making this logo. I had to look up the KDE logo because I am not familiar with it, and yes, this is also a cog. If you feel that makes it unusable I am sorry for that.

TIP: If you are afraid of being accused of copying, be sure to check out the http://images.google.nl/images?svnum=10&um=1&hl=nl&q=ford+logo&btnG=Afbeeldingen+zoeken Ford, http://images.google.nl/images?svnum=10&um=1&hl=nl&q=samsung+logo&btnG=Afbeeldingen+zoeken Samsung and http://images.google.nl/images?svnum=10&um=1&hl=nl&q=landrover+logo&btnG=Afbeeldingen+zoeken Landrover logo's.

Hi, you have a very good point, hopefully there will be some more user input about which logo is the best.

keiler83's Logo

Hi everyone! I've been using OpenDB for a while now and felt like i have to contribute to this project :-)

I think the OpenDB Logo should not change too much. Instead, it should show that its still the same in its functionality, but only newer (and better)

Greetings, keiler83

I love your logo Keiler83, very nice. Can you please provide a PSD copy (or whatever source image you initially created, that preferably has the layers intact.)

What I might do first is put a link to this page on the forum and get others to indicate their preference too.

Hi Jason,

here is the original PSD file. I also sent you an email with the file in it, but I'm not sure if you got it cause I'm having some minor problems with my mailserver. Greetings, keiler83
