Mysql_Collation_Mismatch_Error

Introduction

This wiki page is provided to support users of opendb experiencing issues with the following mysql issue:

 Illegal mix of collations (latin1_general_cs,IMPLICIT) and (latin1_swedish_ci,IMPLICIT)

You may also be visiting this page as a result of an installation warning from the opendb 1.0 installer.

The issue was first encountered while assisting a user to upgrade their 0.81 database to 1.0RC2.

This page will be expanded with more helpful information and scripts as required.

From 1.0RC5 onwards the installer has logic included to perform a collation mismatch check.

The wiki migration is a work in progress. I am aware that some images don't currently work.
