Playing an escape room

When the shift of the educational escape room in which you have enrolled starts, you will be able to access its content by clicking the "start" button on the escape room information page.

You will be directed to a page in which (part of) the content of the escape room is displayed and from where you can perform a series of actions related to your participation. Below is an example of what this page might look like:

The actions that you can perform are the following:

  • Solving puzzles: You might need to provide the answer to the different puzzles of the escape room using the text box on the top right corner. If you do not see that box, do not worry; that means your progress in the escape room will be tracked automatically in some other way.

  • Requesting hints: If your teacher has enabled hints in the escape room, you can request one by clicking the magnifying glass icon on the top bar. You might get a hint for free or you might need to answer a small quiz in order to get a hint (if so, you will be instructed on how many answers you need to get right). Moreover, there might be a minimum period that you will need to wait before asking for another hint once you get one, as well as an overall hint limit.

  • Reviewing information: You can review the hints you have obtained in the past as well as the puzzles you have solved by clicking the "info" icon on the top bar. To see the puzzle solution you need to hover your mouse over it.

Information

  • Support link: If you are participating in the escape room remotely, your teacher might have provided a link to a video conference room through which you can ask for help in case you experience any technical difficulties. You can access it by clicking on the "person" icon on the top bar.

  • Exit: You can exit the escape room any time you want by clicking the "exit" button. You will be able to come back and resume your progress for the whole duration of the escape room.

Moreover, in this interface, you will be able to see notifications generated by Escapp each time a member of your team solves a puzzle or obtains a hint. You may also see any custom notifications generated by the teacher.
