The research talked about focusing on two academic papers that support our case.

Our IT group is looking at bike lane data from the Open Trip Planner but bike lane data doesn't take into account if street crossing are friendly to bikers or not.

The Tech team is developing a live plugin called Turf. Turf can compare two datasets and show the results on a map. The team is working on sample datasets to build up their skills right now.
