- 1846 Differences from 1830
- 18 Los Angeles is based on 1846. All 1846 rules apply except as noted in the 18 Los Angeles rules document.
- The Independent Railroads may be purchased by corporations for their full value. This is a change to the 1846 rules that is not documented in the 18 Los Angeles rules, but only appears on the printed game components.
- All the private companies that grant track lays or token placement are teleport-style. The playing corporation does not need a connection to the hex. The $60 and $100 reserved token spots are teleport-style, while the $40 reserved spots require a connection.
- See the BoardGameGeek Rules Forum for more information.
Variants and optional rules may be selected when creating a game (with references to the rule book, if appropriate).
- Implemented:
- Los Angeles Title: add a private company which can lay an Open City token; 3+ players (rules p3)
- Not Implemented:
- Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe: add a private company that allows placement of a station token in a full city; 3+ players (rules p3)
- Alpha release, still being tested, games may break.
- The LA Citrus private company currently uses the meat-packing tokens from 1846.
- The optional private companies are not yet playable.
