Rolling Stock (V1)

Rolling Stock Stars (V2)

  • This is not an 18xx game, but shares many features of one. With a lot of squinting, you could call it “18xx – the card game”.
  • Pure financial game without map. The network is modeled by synergies between companies.
  • An (arguably) more realistic and sophisticated stock market.
  • There are many companies, with auctions throughout the game (similar to what was later popularized by 1822).
  • When bought by corporations, the companies also take the role of trains in conventional 18xx. They don't rust directly but inflict cost of ownership similar to Harzbahn 1873.
  • Companies can also do an IPO to start a corporation.
  • None
  • A short game is an option for V1. No purple companies will be used.
  • Rolling Stock Stars can be selected from the Rolling Stock page
  • The "Auto" tab allows you to enable auto-passing through Closing rounds. Normally this will disable automatically when the Operating Costs increase, but this may be optionally disabled.
  • Note that the Acquisition and Closing Rounds are quite different from any other game on the site. There is no order defined between players, so everyone can make their moves at the same time. Because of this, in hotseat and in master-mode, there are multiple "pass" buttons - one for each active player.
